European Social Democracy in the 21st century

In Germany, the Social Democratic Party suffered a historic defeat in the September 2009 election. In Poland, the Social Democrats have for several years now had no prospect of taking over. Social Democratic parties appear to have weakened elsewhere in Europe as well. What are the roots of the crisis? What can be done to get Social Democracy strengthen in Europe again?
The Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Warsaw office and the weekly Polityka are staging an international conference for a strong discussion on these questions. The conference is scheduled to start at Polityka's Warsaw office at ul. Słupecka 9, 9:00 on 28 September.
Aleksander Kwaśniewski, Martin Schulz, Grzegorz Napieralski, Robert Fico and Libor Rouček are among speakers who have confirmed their presence at the event. link Invitation

The exhibition “Willy Brandt and Poland”

Visitors can learn about the German federal government head's life and work in the ground floor of the New City Hall at 1, Wały Jagiellońskie in Gdańsk.
